LASU Centre for General Nigerian Studies Sets Date for 3rd Education Summit
The Lagos State University (LASU) Centre for General Nigerian Studies (CGNS) has announced that its 3rd Education Summit will hold from Monday, 1st to Thursday, 4th December 2025, at the Aderemi Makanjuola Lecture Theatre, Main Campus, Ojo.
The Lagos State University (LASU) Centre for General Nigerian Studies (CGNS) has announced that its 3rd Education Summit will hold from Monday, 1st to Thursday, 4th December 2025, at the Aderemi Makanjuola Lecture Theatre, Main Campus, Ojo.
Themed “From Dote to Antidote: Unpacking the Dimensions of Poverty in Nigeria and the Blueprint Beyond,” the four-day summit will bring together scholars, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore sustainable strategies for tackling poverty in Nigeria.

According to the Director of CGNS, Prof. M.O.B. Mohammed, FNAEAP, who will host the event, the summit aims to stimulate critical discourse and propose practical solutions that align with national development goals.
The Keynote Speaker for the summit is Prof. Benedict Emunemu, FNAEAP, of the University of Ibadan, while Mrs. Funke Adepoju Olayomi, Director-General of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Topo, Badagry, Lagos, will serve as Chairperson.
The Vice-Chancellor of LASU, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, will be the Chief Host of the event, which is scheduled to begin daily at 9:00 a.m.
The university community and the general public are invited to participate in what promises to be an engaging and insightful summit.
