The Vice-Chancellor of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu, has called on new graduates to be exemplary ambassadors of the University, emphasizing integrity, professionalism, and societal impact.

Speaking at the induction of 216 new graduates from the Food Sciences Department of the Faculty of Food and Consumer Sciences, the Vice-Chancellor—represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Strategy and Development), Professor Tunde Ogunkunle—urged inductees to contribute meaningfully to research, industry, policy formulation, and community development, while collaborating with seasoned professionals to shape a new Nigeria.

Professor Kalilu reiterated LAUTECH’s commitment to producing graduates who are not only academically sound but also professionally competent and globally competitive. He highlighted ongoing collaboration with professional bodies like the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST) to ensure alignment with industry standards and global best practices.

Acknowledging the support of parents, guardians, and NIFST leadership, he stressed that the graduates’ journey extends beyond problem-solving to innovation, inspiration, and transformation in their communities.

The induction ceremony also celebrated academic excellence, with Oladejo Oluwaseun Rachael recognized as the overall best graduating student of the set.

Dr. Bola Osinowo, President of NIFST, represented by Mr. Oluwole Toye, lauded LAUTECH for nurturing the future leaders of the profession and emphasized the graduates’ role in driving innovation and societal change.
