The Mayor of Brampton, Patrick Brown, hosted the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Environment and Technology (FUET), Ogoni, Professor Prince Chinedu Mmom, DSSRS, in a high-level engagement aimed at strengthening educational and technological collaboration.

At the meeting, discussions focused on partnership opportunities between the City of Brampton and FUET, with particular emphasis on technology exchange, research collaboration, and mathematics education.

The Mayor was joined by Knowledgehook, one of Canada’s leading education technology companies, which currently works with over 90 percent of schools in Brampton. Knowledgehook’s expertise in digital learning and mathematics innovation was highlighted as a key area where FUET could benefit through knowledge transfer and institutional collaboration.

Professor Mmom, who is in Canada for international engagements, expressed optimism about the initiative, noting that such collaboration would strengthen FUET’s drive for global competitiveness, especially in technology and STEM-related disciplines.

Mayor Brown welcomed the proposal and assured of Brampton’s readiness to explore mutually beneficial opportunities with the Nigerian institution.

In recognition of his distinguished contributions to governance and higher education, Mayor Patrick Brown presented a Certificate of Recognition on behalf of the City of Brampton to Professor Mmom. The certificate honoured his service in government and exemplary leadership in higher education, both in Nigeria and internationally.
