The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Professor Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie, has announced the appointment of Mr. Uwanta Lawrence Ifeanyi as the Special Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor on Waste to Wealth.
The appointment was formalized in a letter dated December 17, 2025, signed by the University Registrar, Dr. Chinenye Gloria Okeke. According to the directive, the appointment takes effect immediately.
Mr. Ifeanyi, a distinguished academic from the Department of Applied Microbiology and Brewing within the Faculty of Biosciences, brings significant technical expertise to this specialized role. His appointment signals the University’s commitment to environmental sustainability and the exploration of innovative economic opportunities through waste management and conversion.
In his new capacity, Mr. Ifeanyi is expected to spearhead initiatives that transform campus waste into valuable resources, aligning with global best practices in bio-resource management and institutional development.
