NSUK Issues Disclaimer Over Fake Social Media Accounts Impersonating Vice Chancellor

The management of Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) has issued a public disclaimer warning students, staff, contractors, and members of the public about fake social media accounts impersonating the institution's Vice Chancellor, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman.

In a statement, the university said Professor Liman does not own, operate, or maintain any personal account on Facebook, X formerly Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, or any other social media platform.

According to the university, the fraudulent accounts were created by impostors with the intent to deceive, extort, and scam unsuspecting individuals.

The university advised the public to note the following.

• The Vice Chancellor will never contact anyone through social media to offer admission, award contracts, request financial assistance, or ask for personal information.

• Anyone who chooses to interact, chat, or carry out financial or other transactions with the fake accounts does so entirely at their own risk. The university said it will not be held responsible for any losses resulting from such interactions.

• Members of the public are encouraged to report any social media profile claiming to belong to Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman to the relevant platform administrators and block the account immediately.

The university stated that all official communications from the Office of the Vice Chancellor and the university management are issued only through the following channels.

• The official university website https://www.nsuk.edu.ng

• Official internal university memos and bulletins.

• Verified institutional social media handles managed by the University's Information and Protocol Unit.

NSUK reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the university community and the general public from digital fraud, identity theft, and impersonation.
