A 28-year-old corps member serving in Bauchi State, Mr. Nwokedi Chukwu Ebuka Gerald, has been confirmed dead after he was found lifeless in his residence at Dambam Local Government Area, throwing the local NYSC community into mourning. The tragic discovery was made on the morning of Sunday, August 10, 2025, by fellow corps members who were preparing for a church service.

Concerned about his unusual absence and failure to respond to knocks, they decided to enter his room—only to find him unresponsive. The incident was brought to public attention by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared the development in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Upon being alerted, the police arrived at the scene around 9:20 a.m. and conducted an initial investigation. His body was immediately conveyed to the General Hospital in Dambam, where a medical doctor officially pronounced him dead.

Law enforcement authorities have stated that no foul play is suspected at this time. However, a formal investigation is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances and possible medical cause of his death.
