Professor Rotimi has devoted decades to scholarship and public engagement focused on the study of policing in Nigeria, covering areas ranging from the history of Native Authority and Local Government police forces to contemporary issues surrounding decentralisation, accountability and police reform.
His pioneering research, publications and sustained advocacy have established him as one of Nigeria’s foremost historians of the police.
The University described his appointment as a well-deserved national recognition of his expertise and contribution to the study and development of policing in Nigeria.
