Redeemer’s University Holds Three-Day Orientation for 2026/2027 Fresh Students

Redeemer’s University, Ede, has held a three-day orientation programme for newly admitted students for the 2026/2027 academic session to familiarise them with the institution’s academic, administrative, spiritual and social environment.

The orientation programme, which took place from September 21 to 23, 2026, was held at the Redeemer’s University Auditorium and organised by the Directorate of Student Support and Services (DSSS).

The programme commenced each day with a compulsory morning devotion for all fresh students.

The opening day featured an address on the Vision and Mission of Redeemer’s University by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development), Prof Peter Aderonmu.

The address followed an introductory session led by the Acting Director of DSSS, Dr Basiru Adetomiwa.

The interactive sessions addressed several areas considered essential to the successful transition of new students into university life.

Key areas covered included students’ welfare and hostel administration, chaplaincy and spiritual growth, e-learning, library resources, examination and academic records, and the course unit system.

On the second day, students were introduced to the University’s administration system, bursary and e-payment platform, General Studies Programme, campus security, sporting activities and student health services.

The students also received guidance on substance abuse, examination malpractice and other forms of misconduct, as well as the consequences associated with such offences.

The wife of the Vice-Chancellor, Pastor Mrs Hannah Akindele, also held sessions with the fresh students, during which she taught and emphasised the importance of all-round godliness and excellence as essential components of a successful academic venture.

The final day of the orientation focused on academic excellence and career pursuit.

The Acting Director of CASEC, Dr Timilehin Shaba, led a session titled “You and CASEC”, providing students with guidance relevant to their academic and career development.

The orientation programme ended with a campus tour for the fresh students.

The three-day programme was designed to help new students understand and embrace Redeemer’s University’s values, academic expectations, support systems, regulations and opportunities as they commence their university journey.

The initiative also reinforces the institution’s focus on developing graduates who demonstrate excellence in both learning and character.
