UNIABUJA Appoints Udeozor, Ndagi as Deputy Vice-Chancellors

The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has appointed Professor Rosemary Udeozor of the Department of Educational Management and Professor Mohammad Umar Ndagi of the Department of Arabic as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), respectively, pending ratification by the Governing Council.

The University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has appointed Professor Rosemary Udeozor of the Department of Educational Management and Professor Mohammad Umar Ndagi of the Department of Arabic as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), respectively, pending ratification by the Governing Council.

The appointments followed the 92nd Extraordinary Meeting of the University Senate held on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, at the institution’s main campus. Both scholars emerged unopposed after two Senate members earlier nominated by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi, stepped down during the selection process.

In their acceptance remarks, the newly appointed deputy vice-chancellors pledged their support for the vision and strategic direction of the university management, assuring members of Senate of their commitment to due process and institutional development. They also expressed readiness to work closely with the Vice-Chancellor to sustain a harmonious and productive academic environment within the university community.
