Acting Provost Hosts Completion Ceremony of Qur'anic Recitation at AKCILS

The Acting Provost of Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies, AKCILS, Dr. Ali Tamasi Mu'az, served as Chief Host of the completion ceremony of the Qur'anic recitation 3,313 times held at the College Theatre.

The recitation programme was organised under the auspices of the Coalition of Jumu'at Mosque Imams of Kano State, as part of sustained efforts to promote learning, recitation and preservation of the Glorious Qur'an, as well as to strengthen Islamic values in society.

The ceremony attracted prominent personalities, renowned Islamic scholars and dignitaries from within and outside Kano State.

Among distinguished personalities who graced the occasion were the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, Ph.D., and the member representing Gwale Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Garba Diso.

The gathering provided opportunity for scholars, religious leaders and members of the public to celebrate completion of the recitation and to encourage sustained commitment to teachings and noble values of Islam.

In his capacity as Chief Host, Dr. Mu'az expressed profound appreciation to organisers for choosing the College as venue for the significant religious occasion. He reaffirmed the institution's commitment to supporting programmes that promote Islamic scholarship, moral development and community engagement.

The Acting Provost prayed for Allah's acceptance of efforts of all those who contributed to success of the recitation and urged participants to remain steadfast in upholding and practising teachings of the Glorious Qur'an in daily lives.

A major highlight was the turbaning of the Kano State Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, Ph.D., as the "Garkuwan Gwanayen Mahaddata Al-Qur'ani" (Patron of Qur'anic Memorizers).

During the ceremony, the Acting Provost joined the Chairman of the Forum in performing the turbaning rites.
