Al-Istiqama University Sumaila Delegation Visits Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria on MBBS Accreditation

A high-level delegation from Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, (AUSU) led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulhadi Sale Kumurya, paid a Courtesy visit to the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria [MDCN] in Abuja, Nigeria.

The visit is significant as MDCN is the regulatory body responsible for accreditation, certification, licensing, and supervision of the MBBS programme in Nigerian universities.

Key issues Were discussed during the visit, Centered on the accreditation of medical programmes, and enhancing standards of medical and dental education at the University.

The delegation was received by the Registrar of MDCN, Prof. Fatima Kyari, alongside the Director of Medical Education, Dr. Nwakanma.

Members of the delegation included: The Registrar of Al-Istiqama University, Sumaila, Malam Usman Yakubu, The Director of the Admission, Alhaji Hassan Abdurrahman, as well as the Provost, College of Medical and Health Sciences, Prof. Muhammad Umar.
