Borno State SSG Commissions FAO-Donated Modern Farm Equipment at Mohamet Lawan College of Agriculture

In a significant step toward modernizing agriculture in the Northeast, the Mohamet Lawan College of Agriculture (MOLCA), in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, received the Secretary to the Borno State Government (SSG) on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

The high-level visit served as the formal presentation of modern agricultural machinery donated by the FAO to support the institution’s farming activities and enhance food security in dry-land regions.

The Borno State SSG commended the FAO for its consistent intervention and praised the technical staff of MOLCA for their dedication to agricultural research and development.

Responding, the Provost of MOLCA, Prof. Abba Makinta, expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, for his administration's unwavering support of the college. He also thanked Mr. Ali Galol, Head of the FAO North-East Sub-Office, for the strategic partnership that continues to empower local farming communities.
