FCE Jama'are Prepares Students for 3rd Industrial Training with SIWES Orientation

The management of the Federal College of Education, Jama'are, has reaffirmed its commitment to equipping students with practical skills and professional experience through the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES).

This was disclosed by the SIWES Coordinator of the College, Mr. Oladeji J. Akintola, during the 3rd SIWES orientation programme held at the 250-seater Theatre Hall of the College.

Mr. Akintola said the orientation was aimed at preparing students for industrial training by providing guidelines, expectations and best practices required for a successful SIWES experience.

He congratulated the students and urged them to make effective use of the knowledge gained. He said the programme was designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industrial practice, noting that SIWES is not just a graduation requirement but an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in solving practical challenges.

Also speaking, the representative of the Area Manager, Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Jigawa State, Mr. Sambo Mohammed, enlightened students on rules of engagement, safety procedures and documentation processes. He emphasised the need for carefulness and accuracy in filling logbooks and warned against absenteeism, falsification of records and abandoning places of attachment without official approval.

The orientation ended with students expressing appreciation for the guidance provided by the resource persons.
