Federal Poly Oko Rector, Dr. Chioma Awuzie, Honoured as "Dynamic Educationist" by NAWOJ Anambra

The Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Dr. Chioma Irene Awuzie has been honoured by the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Anambra State Chapter with the 2026 Anambra Female Achiever award as DYNAMIC EDUCATIONIST. 

The award presentation was part of the activities marking the 2026 International Women's Day Celebration which was held on 31st March, 2026 at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Women's Development Centre Awka.

The theme of the occasion is "Justice Action For all Women and Girls, Give to Gain, Projecting Anambra Female Achievers 2.0" while the keynote speaker is the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Paul University Awka, Prof. Chinyere Stella Okunna.

The award reflects Dr. Chioma Awuzie's unflinching commitment towards sustainable academic excellence and institutional development at the Federal Polytechnic Oko.

 The Rector's transformative leadership has widely imparted virtually all the facets of the polytechnic leading to the renewed zeal among staff and students.

The award was received on her behalf by the Deputy Rector Academic, Dr. Nkiruka Akabuike

Other distinguished personalities who were honoured at the event include Senator Uche Ekwunife, Vice Chancellor, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Prof Kate Azuka Omenugha, the chairperson, Anambra State Universal Education Board, Mrs Vera Nkiruka Nwadinobi, Anambra State Women Leader of APGA, Mrs Esther Onyejesi among others.

The NAWOJ State Chairperson, Comrade Tochukwu Ifejika stated that the awards were designed to recognize excellence and inspire women and girls to leadership and achievement.
