FedPoly Monguno Rector Declares 2026 Entrepreneurship Training And Workshop Open, Urges Effective Use Of Knowledge

The Rector of Federal Polytechnic Monguno, Dr. Alhaji Umar Bukar, has described entrepreneurship as a vital catalyst for national development, economic diversification, innovation and sustainable job creation.

The Rector made this assertion on Monday, July 21, 2026, while declaring open the 2026 Entrepreneurship Training and Workshop organized by KLM Grand Consult Limited in collaboration with the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund, for staff of the Polytechnic's Entrepreneurship Centre.

In his opening address, Dr. Bukar reiterated the Polytechnic's unwavering commitment to academic excellence through quality teaching, staff training and development, research as well as innovation. He stressed that entrepreneurship has become an essential tool for empowering individuals with the knowledge, creativity and confidence required to create wealth, establish businesses and contribute meaningfully to national growth.

The Rector further assured participants and stakeholders that Federal Polytechnic Monguno remains safe, peaceful and conducive for teaching and learning, noting that the institution has continued to maintain an enabling academic environment.

He encouraged participants to maximize the opportunity by actively participating in all sessions and translating the knowledge, skills and practical experiences acquired into improved service delivery at the polytechnic's entrepreneurship centre.

He noted that effective implementation of the knowledge gained would not only enhance their professional competence but would also strengthen entrepreneurial education within the institution and contribute significantly to the overall growth and development of the polytechnic.

Dr. Bukar expressed appreciation to TETFund for its continuous investment in human capital development through capacity-building programmes across Nigerian tertiary institutions, and acknowledged the Fund's consistent support in enhancing institutional growth and staff development.

He expressed optimism that the training would equip participants with contemporary entrepreneurial knowledge, innovative strategies and practical skills necessary to reposition the polytechnic's centre for greater productivity.

In a related development, the Rector paid a condolence visit to Bukar Mohammed of the Registry Department following the death of his father in Maiduguri.

The Rector expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty Allah, SWT, to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give the family the strength, patience and fortitude to bear the loss.
