Food Vendor Builds Kitchen with NYSC Allowance

A Nigerian food vendor has inspired many after revealing that she successfully built her own kitchen using only her one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) allowance. 

The vendor, known on TikTok as @foodboxvendorsinipaja, documented the journey in a video that showed the construction process from start to finish.

Celebrating the achievement, she wrote: “Finally! It’s a dream come true … my mini kitchen space built from scratch . Eight months of sweat, hard work, grace, and some seasoning. It wasn’t easy, but God made it happen .”

Her story quickly went viral, with many praising her discipline, determination, and ability to turn her ₦77,000 monthly stipend into a lasting investment. Some, however, questioned whether the allowance alone could realistically cover such a project.
