FUDMA Honours Reps Member Abubakar Bichi for Transformative Educational Initiatives

Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) has honored Abubakar Kabir Abubakar Bichi, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, for his impactful contributions to education. Bichi’s support has enabled over 5,000 students to study in Nigerian institutions, while 21 others received scholarships for postgraduate engineering programs in Malaysia.

Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) has commended Abubakar Kabir Abubakar Bichi, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, for his dedication to advancing education, particularly among underprivileged students. Bichi’s impactful contributions have supported numerous students in pursuing education both within Nigeria and abroad.

Through his efforts, 21 postgraduate students from Nigeria have been awarded fully funded scholarships to study engineering in Malaysia, while over 5,000 Bichi indigenes have received support to further their education in various Nigerian universities and colleges. His commitment to education has not only opened doors for local students but also brought international academic opportunities within reach for many.

In recognition of Bichi's extensive service, FUDMA conferred on him an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Engineering during its 9th convocation ceremony. According to FUDMA’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Armayau Hamisu, Bichi's service to humanity and the nation reflects his dedication to uplifting society through education. Additionally, Bichi has facilitated the construction of three faculty buildings, a library, a female hostel, and an auditorium on the FUDMA campus.

During the convocation, a new 200-capacity auditorium was unveiled and named in honor of Bichi, which he commissioned as a symbol of the university’s gratitude. Bichi expressed his commitment to working with fellow lawmakers to elevate the standards of Nigerian academic institutions, aiming to make them globally competitive.

FUDMA has called on other lawmakers and affluent individuals to emulate Bichi’s contributions, stressing the importance of collective efforts in raising educational standards nationwide. Bichi’s ongoing dedication has earned him widespread recognition, not only for his legislative achievements but also for his commitment to community development and the empowerment of future generations.
