The Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO) has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality infrastructure following an inspection of ongoing construction projects at its permanent site in Akwete-Akpa.

The inspection, conducted on July 7, 2026, was led by the Vice-Chancellor, Francis Aba Uba, alongside members of the University's Governing Council.
The Chairman of the Governing Council, Muhammed Salihu, and other council members expressed satisfaction with the quality and standard of work at the various project sites, commending the progress achieved.
However, the Vice-Chancellor raised concerns over the slow pace of construction on the building designated for the Departments of Microbiology and Physics. He, together with the Governing Council, directed the contractor handling the project to expedite work, warning that further delays or excuses would not be tolerated.
The inspection also highlighted significant progress on the College of Medicine Complex, which the university described as one of its most impressive facilities in terms of size, aesthetics and architectural design.
According to the university, the complex is expected to substantially address office accommodation needs upon completion while providing modern lecture theatres and learning spaces to enhance teaching, learning and research.

FUHSO said the inspection reflects its commitment to providing world-class infrastructure that supports academic excellence, cutting-edge research and quality healthcare training, in line with its vision of becoming a leading institution for medical and health sciences education in Nigeria.
