FUHST Appoints Malam Ka’ilu Umar Sa’id as Acting Registrar Following the Demise of Pioneer Registrar
The Management of the Federal University of Health Sciences and Technology, Tsafe (FUHST), has approved the appointment of Malam Ka’ilu Umar Sa’id as the Acting Registrar of the institution.
The appointment follows the death of the university's pioneer Registrar, Malam Hamisu Yusuf Yalwa, who passed away on May 5, 2026, after a brief illness. Prior to his new administrative deployment, Malam Ka’ilu Umar Sa’id served as the Deputy Registrar at the University Library of Bayero University, Kano (BUK).
According to the official appointment notification, Malam Sa’id will oversee the university’s registry and administrative operations in an acting capacity for the specific duration outlined in his deployment letter.
The sudden death of Malam Hamisu Yusuf Yalwa necessitated an immediate transition plan to prevent structural delays in the institution's ongoing academic and administrative schedules.
Malam Sa’id brings extensive experience in higher education administration to FUHST, having managed personnel and data frameworks within the administrative structure of Bayero University, Kano.

As Acting Registrar, Malam Sa’id will serve as the chief administrative officer of the university, reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor. He will be responsible for superintending over student admissions, academic record keeping, senate secrets, and the general administration of university policies.
The management of FUHST expressed confidence that Sa’id’s technical background will ensure administrative stability and continuity during this transition period as the university mourns its pioneer registrar.
