FULOKOJA Doctoral Researcher Michael Olaogun Selected for Africa Pandemic Sciences Fellowship
A doctoral researcher at the Federal University Lokoja, Michael Olaogun, has been selected as one of 16 Fellows from across Africa for the Africa Pandemic Sciences Collaborative Individual Policy Exchange Programme (iPEP) Fellowship.
Olaogun, a doctoral researcher at the Institute of Governance and Development Studies, Federal University Lokoja, and Senior Programme and Innovation Manager at Research Enterprise Systems (RES), was selected for the fellowship which brings together emerging African researchers and policy practitioners working to strengthen the continent's capacity to generate, translate and apply evidence to current and emerging health challenges.
Presenting his selection letter to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, Olaogun shared details of the fellowship and the research he will undertake over the next one year.
Professor Ibileye expressed delight at the achievement, noting that the University was proud of his selection and the opportunity it provides for one of its doctoral researchers to participate in international research and policy conversations on pandemic preparedness and innovation in Africa.

The fellowship will provide Olaogun with the opportunity to engage with a distinguished cohort of African researchers and policy professionals advancing evidence-informed policymaking and resilient health systems across the continent.
As part of the fellowship, he will spend the next one year researching "Research and Innovation Ecosystem for Pandemic Preparedness and Response in Africa: Perspectives from Nigeria and Mali" in collaboration with a counterpart from the Université des Sciences des Techniques et des Technologies de Bamako (USTTB), Mali.
