FUNATO Wraps Up Orientation Programme For Non-Teaching Staff

The Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO), has concluded a three-day Orientation and Familiarisation Programme for its newly appointed non-teaching staff. The final day was devoted to administrative practice, institutional procedures and financial management.

Three resource persons led the day's masterclasses. Mr Olabode Akinrinmade trained participants in writing official letters and memos and in taking objective minutes, skills central to sound record-keeping. Dr Oluyale Bosede explained the functions of the Registry Department and why it is vital to the smooth running of the University.

The closing session, led by Mr Olaosun Ismail, dealt with budgeting and budgetary control. He stressed financial discipline, careful use of resources and strategic allocation as the basis for institutional growth and sustainability.

To assess the effectiveness of the programme, participants also undertook an evaluation exercise organised by the programme coordinators. Their responses reflected a commendable understanding of the topics discussed and the knowledge shared by the resource persons throughout the three-day programme.
