FUTMINNA VC Reaffirms 2025/2026 Launch for College of Medical Sciences

The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna) has achieved a significant milestone in its expansion into medical education with the official commissioning of critical infrastructure at its Gidan Kwano Main Campus.

On Friday, January 9, 2026, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, inaugurated the newly completed Gross Anatomy Laboratory and a dedicated Female Medical Students’ Hostel, solidifying the University’s readiness to commence full academic activities in the College of Medical Sciences and Health Technology (CMSHT) for the 2025/2026 academic session.

During the ceremony, Prof. Kuta highlighted the vital role of external partnerships in the University's growth. He specifically acknowledged a ₦100 million donation from the Executive Governor of Niger State, Farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, which was instrumental in the construction of the medical hostel.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that these facilities are essential for the takeoff of the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and other allied health programs. These programs have already received formal approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) and have been certified by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) and the Federal Ministry of Health.
