In a proactive move to combat substance abuse within the academic community, the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, has partnered with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to implement a digital drug screening framework.

On Friday, January 9, 2026, the Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, hosted a specialized team from the NDLEA for a comprehensive training session focused on the administration of Online Integrity Drug Testing. This new protocol is set to become a mandatory requirement for both fresh and returning students of the institution.

The NDLEA delegation, led by consultant Mr. Emmanuel Stable Shield, facilitated the training for university management and frontline personnel. Mr. Shield emphasized that the initiative is part of a broader national strategy to reduce the prevalence of hard drug consumption among Nigerian youths, specifically targeting those in higher education.
