Kano State Polytechnic Commends Governor Yusuf Over ₦96 Million Lecture Theatre Reconstruction

Kano State Polytechnic has commended the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, for his continued commitment to the development of the institution, particularly following the release of ₦96,366,581.04 for the reconstruction of an abandoned lecture theatre at the School of Management Studies (SMS) and the approval of ₦411,823,414 for the conduct of a combined convocation ceremony and accreditation exercise.

The Rector, Dr. Abubakar Umar Farouk, expressed the institution's profound appreciation on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, staff and students. He described the Governor's interventions as significant milestones in the ongoing efforts to strengthen the institution's infrastructure, improve academic standards and promote its overall development.

Dr. Farouk noted that the release of funds for the reconstruction of the abandoned lecture theatre would address critical infrastructural needs and provide a more conducive environment for teaching, learning and other academic activities.

He further described the approval of funds for the combined convocation ceremony and accreditation exercise as a demonstration of the Governor's recognition of the importance of academic excellence, institutional credibility and the celebration of the Polytechnic's achievements.

According to the Rector, these timely interventions go beyond financial support, as they reflect the Kano State Government's determination to reposition educational institutions for greater productivity, improved service delivery and sustainable development.

He stressed that the Governor's commitment to the Polytechnic aligns with his administration's Kano First Agenda, which prioritises the welfare of the people and the development of critical sectors, particularly education.

The Polytechnic's Management expressed optimism that these interventions would further strengthen the institution's capacity to deliver quality technical and vocational education while enhancing its reputation as a leading centre of higher learning in the state and beyond.

The Rector also offered prayers for Almighty Allah to grant Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf good health, wisdom and renewed strength to sustain his administration's developmental initiatives for the benefit of the people of Kano State.
