FUTA Physics Department Acquires Prusa MK4 3D Printer to Boost Research and Innovation

The Department of Physics at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), has acquired a Prusa MK4 3D printer to strengthen its existing 3D printing facilities and expand the application of fabrication technologies in research, education and innovation.

The Prusa MK4 is a rapid prototyping machine that will enable students, researchers and innovators in the department to transform ideas into practical solutions by designing, building, experimenting, testing and developing technologies to address real-world challenges.

The acquisition goes beyond adding another machine to the department’s equipment. It is intended to provide the university community with practical tools for innovation and problem-solving.

With the growing importance of artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and advanced manufacturing, access to such tools has become essential for preparing the next generation of scientists, engineers and technology developers to address emerging challenges and create solutions that benefit society and humanity.
