Academic Positions and Requirements

Professor

Candidates applying for the position of Professor must already be Professors and must have at least 20 publications, 16 of which must be in print. Four of the publications must have appeared in at least three different and regularly published foreign-indexed journals.

Candidates must also provide evidence of having supervised to completion three Master's degrees and one PhD degree.

Reader/Associate Professor

Candidates applying for the position of Reader/Associate Professor must already be Readers and possess a PhD in the relevant field, with evidence of outstanding and continuing achievement and teaching experience in a university.

Candidates must also have at least 15 publications in reputable international and national journals and a record of supervising PhD and Master's students.

Senior Lecturer

Candidates must possess a PhD degree in the relevant field from a recognised institution, as well as six years of post-qualification teaching and research experience.

Candidates must also have a minimum of 10 publications in reputable journals, with evidence of continuous research and the ability to supervise postgraduate students.

Lecturer I

Candidates must possess a PhD degree in the relevant field from a recognised institution, plus three years of teaching experience and two journal publications, all of which must have been published.

Alternatively, candidates may possess a PhD with professional registration and two published journal articles, or a Master's degree plus six years of teaching experience and five journal articles, three of which must have been published.

Lecturer II

Candidates must possess a PhD degree in the relevant field from a recognised institution, or a Master's degree plus two journal publications and at least three years of post-qualification teaching and research experience at the university level.

Assistant Lecturer

Candidates must possess a good second-class honours degree in the relevant field from a recognised institution, plus a Master's degree.

NON-TEACHING STAFF POSITIONS

Programmer II

Candidates must possess a degree with hands-on skills in any of the following:

Candidates must also possess an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

Technologist II

Candidates must possess an HND/B.Sc. (Professional Degree), with an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, and must be registrable with the relevant institute.

Accountant II

Candidates must possess a good B.Sc. degree in Accountancy, plus one year of NYSC or exemption certificate.

Medical Officer

Candidates must possess an MBBS degree, plus one year of NYSC or exemption certificate.

Pharmacy Intern

Candidates must possess a B.Sc. (Pharm) degree with full registration with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria, plus one year of NYSC or exemption certificate.

Medical Laboratory Scientist

Candidates must possess a good first degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), plus registration with the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology of Nigeria (IMLTN), as well as one year of NYSC or exemption certificate.

Medical Laboratory Technician

Candidates must possess WASC or SSCE, plus three years of training and registration with the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology for the Technician Cadre.

Conditions of Service

The conditions of service are as obtainable in Nigerian universities and as approved by the Federal University of Lafia Governing Council.
