FUTA Alumnus, Guinness World Record Holder Christopher Olusa Presents Book to Vice-Chancellor

Guinness World Record holder and youth advocate, Christopher Olusa, has presented his new book, “No More Future: Why Waiting Is Over and What to Build Instead,” to the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Professor Adenike Oladiji.

Olusa, a FUTA alumnus, said the book challenges young people to stop waiting for opportunities and take deliberate steps towards creating the future they desire.

He explained that the future should not be seen as something to await passively but as something to build through initiative, innovation, resilience and purposeful action.

As the founder of Talk with the Duke, an initiative focused on youth development, empowerment and purposeful engagement, Olusa has consistently encouraged young people to recognise their capacity to create opportunities rather than depend solely on existing ones.

His advocacy is informed partly by his personal experience five years ago, when he earned a place in the Guinness World Records through a 72-hour Mathematics Hackathon. The intellectual endurance challenge demonstrated his passion for mathematics, innovation and youth development.

Awoyinfa expressed delight at being part of Olusa's achievement and commended Professor Oladiji's open-door policy, which he said had made her accessible to alumni and other stakeholders.

He added that FUTA alumni were proud of the Vice-Chancellor and her achievements at the university, noting that the association remained committed to supporting the progress of her administration.

Also present during the visit was Miss Mary Babalola, a team member of the Talk with the Duke initiative.

Receiving Olusa and his entourage, Professor Oladiji commended the author for his contributions to society and for bringing recognition to his alma mater.

She noted that his achievements and advocacy could inspire students and other young Nigerians, particularly at a time when innovation, initiative and self-development are increasingly important.

The Vice-Chancellor encouraged Olusa to sustain his youth development advocacy and continue using his experiences to inspire young people to embrace creativity, resilience and purposeful action.

She also reaffirmed FUTA's commitment to recognising and supporting the achievements of its alumni who continue to make meaningful contributions beyond the university.
