Goodwill Flows in for LASU's Tenth Substantive Vice-Chancellor

The wave of congratulatory visits to Lagos State University continued on Thursday, September 24, 2026, as colleagues, stakeholders and friends welcomed Prof. Ayodeji Olawunmi Badejo as the University's tenth substantive Vice-Chancellor.

From within LASU and beyond, visitors conveyed messages of goodwill and support while connecting with the Vice-Chancellor and her administration.

The University community was well represented, with members of the College of Medicine, the School of Library, Archival and Information Science, the Students' Affairs Division and the Faculty of Management Sciences paying visits. The Chairman of the Security Advisory Committee, Prof. James Kehinde, was also among those received, alongside members of the LASU Christian Committee.

The goodwill extended beyond the University, with the Vice-Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Hon. Chimezie Ewerem, paying a congratulatory visit. The Managing Director of Goldband Technologies Limited, Mr Seyi Odusanya, and Mr Michael Oni, representing the Vincent Family of Lagos, also visited to extend best wishes. Several groups and guests presented gifts as tokens of goodwill.

In her interactions, Prof. Badejo expressed appreciation for the warm wishes, kind words and thoughtful gestures. She acknowledged their contributions to the University and welcomed the opportunity to deepen relationships between the University and its stakeholders.

The continued visits and messages reflect the broad network of relationships surrounding Lagos State University as the new administration settles into office, adding warmth to Prof. Badejo's early days as Vice-Chancellor.
