Gov. Sule Redeems ₦44 Million Pledge to NSUK First-Class Graduates

The Executive Governor of Nasarawa State and Visitor to Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, has fulfilled his ₦44 million pledge to outstanding graduates of the University, rewarding them for their exceptional academic performance.

The pledge was redeemed at a presentation ceremony held at the Nasarawa State Ministry of Education, Lafia, on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, following the Governor’s commitment made during the University’s 8th Combined Convocation and 25th Silver Jubilee celebrations.

Under the pledge, each of the 82 first-class graduates will receive ₦500,000, while the three overall best graduating students will receive ₦1 million each.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor of NSUK, Prof. Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, at the ceremony, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Innovation and Linkages, Prof. K’tso Nghargbu, expressed appreciation to Governor Sule for fulfilling his promise.

Prof. Liman commended the Governor’s generosity and continued support for the University, noting that the gesture would encourage students to pursue academic excellence and distinguish themselves through outstanding performance.

She also praised Governor Sule’s commitment to education and human capital development in Nasarawa State, stressing that the reward demonstrates that dedication, discipline and academic excellence are recognised and valued.

The Vice-Chancellor added that the initiative would not only celebrate the achievements of the beneficiaries but also inspire other students to aspire to higher academic standards.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Commissioner for Education, Dr. John D. W. Mamman, and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Khadijat Musa Suleiman, commended Governor Sule for the gesture and congratulated the beneficiaries on their academic achievements.

The University delegation also included the Registrar and the Bursar, who joined the Vice-Chancellor’s representative at the ceremony to witness the fulfilment of the Governor’s pledge.

The redemption of the ₦44 million pledge further strengthens the partnership between the Nasarawa State Government and NSUK in promoting academic excellence, rewarding merit and motivating students to pursue outstanding performance.
