Governor Alia, VC Alabar Meet Over Staff Welfare; Inspect Projects in Ihugh

The Vice-Chancellor of Reverend Father Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi, Professor Timothy Terseer Alabar, on Easter Monday, held a strategic engagement with the Executive Governor of Benue State and Visitor to the University, His Excellency, Reverend Father Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, at Ihugh.

The meeting centred on key issues relating to staff welfare and the continued growth and development of the University.

During the engagement, Professor Alabar underscored the critical importance of improved welfare packages for staff, noting that a motivated workforce is fundamental to achieving academic excellence, institutional stability, and the advancement of teaching, learning, and research. He commended the Governor for his sustained commitment to the development of tertiary education in Benue State and expressed optimism that the concerns raised would receive prompt and favourable consideration.

As part of the visit, the Vice-Chancellor accompanied the Governor on an inspection tour of ongoing projects at the Benue State University of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Ihugh, located in Vandeikya Local Government Area. The visit provided an opportunity to assess the progress of key infrastructural developments within the Institution.

Professor Alabar expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work at the project sites and lauded the State Government’s deliberate efforts to expand access to quality education through strategic infrastructural investments. He reiterated the University’s readiness to strengthen collaboration with the Government in advancing educational development in Benue State.

In his remarks, Governor Alia reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of University staff across the State. He emphasized that education remains a top priority of his government and assured that necessary measures would be taken to address the challenges confronting staff and the broader University system.
