Governor Soludo Offers Scholarships and Job Opportunities to 37 First Class Graduates of COOU

The announcement followed celebrations at the university after Mr. Umeh Augustus Somtochukwu emerged as the overall best graduating student and received a cash award.
Under the new gesture, all 37 first class graduates will receive fully funded scholarships for postgraduate studies from master’s to doctoral level in any public university of their choice, alongside assured job placements.
Governor Soludo said the beneficiaries represent strategic intellectual assets whose excellence should be deliberately invested in for the development of the state and the nation. He stressed that supporting high performing graduates is essential for sustainable growth and innovation.
The university noted that the 37 students were selected from over 3,000 graduating students in the 2025 2026 academic session, describing their achievement as a reflection of sustained academic discipline and commitment.
COOU added that the feat aligns with its institutional philosophy of values, viability and visibility, which it says continues to shape academic standards and student development.

The university congratulated the graduates, describing their performance as a strong indication of the institution’s growing academic reputation.
