Governor Zulum Commissions New Junior Secondary Schools in Borno

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has commissioned three newly built Government Junior Day Secondary Schools in Tungushe, Yerimari, and Wadiya.

The schools were constructed under the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment project to increase access to quality education in underserved rural areas.

The Commissioner for Education highlighted that the intervention aligns with Borno State's 25-Year Development Plan. The schools aim to provide children in these communities with access to junior secondary education, which was previously limited. Qualified teachers have been posted to the schools, and an enrollment campaign has been launched with a focus on girls' education.

Students received uniforms, textbooks, and other learning materials. The initiative is part of the state's efforts to promote education and development, particularly in areas affected by conflict.
