ICAN President Pays Courtesy Visit to MAU Vice-Chancellor
The 62nd President and Chairman of Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Hajiya Queensley Sofuratu Seghosime, mni, FCA, has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, Prof. Ibrahim Umar.
The visit took place during her stay in Yola for the 21st Northern Zonal Accountants' Conference, themed Accountability, National Security and Economic Development: The Nexus and the Role of the Professional Accountant.
Receiving the ICAN President and her delegation, Prof. Umar expressed appreciation for the visit and the longstanding relationship between the Institute and the University.

He noted that the university has continued to produce graduates who contribute to the accounting profession, adding that many of its Accounting graduates are members of ICAN. He also appreciated the contributions of Prof. Ahmad Bawa to the development of the university.
The ICAN President congratulated Prof. Umar on his appointment as Vice-Chancellor and commended the university's contributions to teaching, research, innovation and human capital development.
She emphasised the importance of stronger collaboration between the accounting profession and the university, particularly in areas of professional development, mentorship, research, internships and knowledge sharing.
The visit featured exchange of souvenirs between ICAN and the university and a group photograph.
The delegation also visited the MAU Yola Solar Farm, where they were briefed on the university's renewable energy infrastructure.
The courtesy visit provided an opportunity for both institutions to reaffirm their shared commitment to strengthening professional education, capacity development and the contribution of accounting to institutional and national development.
