KHAIRUN Celebrates Winner of 2023 World Qur’anic Recitation Competition

Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), through its International Institute of Qur’anic Science (IIQS), hosted an award presentation to honor Malama Hajara Dan Azumi Gombe, the winner of the 2023 World Qur’anic Recitation Competition held in Jordan. The ceremony took place on December 4, 2024, at the university’s campus.  

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, praised the recipient’s exceptional achievement and acknowledged the contributions of her parents and teachers to her success. He reaffirmed KHAIRUN’s commitment to promoting Islamic teachings and values as part of its foundational mission.

The Coordinator of the IIQS, Barr. Habib Dan Almajiri, highlighted the significance of Qur’anic memorization and described the awardee as a beacon of pride for her family and the nation. He encouraged the public to recognize such remarkable accomplishments.

Expressing his gratitude, the awardee’s father, Malam Dan Azumi Gombe, thanked Almighty Allah for the momentous occasion and appreciated KHAIRUN’s recognition. He also commended the roles played by the awardee’s mother and teachers in her journey to excellence.  

The event underscored KHAIRUN’s dedication to Islamic excellence and its efforts to inspire future generations through the promotion of Qur’anic recitation and memorization.
