KWASU Inducts 387 Engineering Graduates into the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE)
Kwara State University celebrates the induction of 387 engineering graduates into the Nigerian Society of Engineers, marking the start of their professional careers.
A total of 387 engineering graduates from the Faculty of Engineering at Kwara State University (KWASU) have been officially inducted into the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) during the Graduate Membership Induction Ceremony and Public Lecture which held in December 2024.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Moshood Mahmood Jimba, highlighted that KWASU's partnership with the NSE reflects the institution's dedication to nurturing professionalism among its students and alumni.
In his address, the Chairman of the NSE Ilorin Branch, Dr. O.A. Ogunjirin, FNSE, emphasized the importance of institution-based inductions. He noted that inducting engineering graduates into the Society is a significant step toward launching their successful careers.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Bilyamin Adeoye Ibitoye, shared that the new graduate members hail from six departments within the Faculty, including Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Agricultural and Biological Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.
Immanuel Osayi Ulinfun, from the Department of Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering, was recognized as the overall best graduating student and received an award of excellence from the NSE. Additionally, each department’s best graduating student was presented with an award of excellence.
The event also featured an oath-taking ceremony, with NSE Ilorin Branch executives presiding over the induction of the new graduate members into the esteemed professional society.
