KWASU Mass Communication Students Clinch Two Awards at 2025 Campus Journalism Awards in Abuja

Students of Kwara State University's Department of Mass Communication have emerged winners of 2 categories of awards at the 2025 Campus Journalism Awards (CJA) held on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

The award, which brought together outstanding student journalists from 50 universities and polytechnics in Nigeria, saw Olusola Oyedele Oladeji and Najeebat Oyerinde Oyewumi secure wins in different categories.

Olusola, who clinched the top award in the Books (Author) Category, had his entry stand out for its originality, thematic richness, and narrative precision. He was celebrated for his literary craftsmanship.

Najeebat, on her part, emerged winner of the Broadcaster category for her talent as an on-air personality. She is renowned for her articulate delivery, confident presentation, and skill in storytelling. Najeebat’s success is a reflection of KWASU’s strong emphasis on practical broadcast training and media professionalism.

These wins by two 400 level students indicate that KWASU is an emerging powerhouse in campus journalism and creative communication and is an institution for the training of the next top media personalities.
