Lagos Teachers Set for Free Training on Learner Engagement and Inclusive Teaching

Over 1,000 Lagos teachers will receive free training on modern teaching methods, learner engagement, differentiated instruction and inclusive classroom practices on August 20, 2026.

The capacity-building workshop, organised by Lagos Technocrats 4Hamzat, will focus on how teachers can adapt their teaching methods to meet the needs of 21st-century learners.

The programme, titled “Learning Styles and Learner-Centric Pedagogy in the 21st Century,” is scheduled to hold on August 20, 2026, at the SUBEB Hall, Maryland, Lagos.

According to the organisers, the training will address challenges teachers face in engaging learners with different abilities, interests and learning needs.

The workshop will focus on learner engagement, differentiated instruction and inclusive classroom practices, with participants expected to gain practical tools they can apply in their classrooms.

The organisers said teachers would be trained to identify individual learning needs, develop more interactive lesson plans and adopt teaching approaches that allow different categories of learners to participate effectively in classroom activities.

The initiative is being convened by Dr Mike Oladunjoye Egbayelo, while educationist, leadership coach and trainer, Dr Adebare Egunjobi, will lead the training.

The organisers said the decision to focus on teachers was informed by the importance of classroom practice to the quality of education delivered to pupils and students.

“The quality of education depends directly on the quality of classroom practice,” the organisers said, adding that the workshop would provide teachers with practical tools to improve the learning experience of Lagos children.

Participation is free, but teachers interested in attending are required to register ahead of the workshop.

The organisers said the initiative is open to teachers in both public and private schools across Lagos State.
