LASU Alumnus, Seyi Omotoso, Advances Global Research Collaboration at Harvard Medical School

Lagos State University (LASU) proudly celebrates the achievements of our distinguished alumnus, Seyi Omotoso, who is pursuing a PhD at the University of São Paulo.

Supported by CNPq funding, Seyi is currently in the United States undertaking an academic visit to Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School, where he is collaborating with researchers on ongoing projects including the diagnoses of Alzheimer’s disease using machine learning and deep learning architectures. While at Harvard, Seyi is also engaging in scientific discussions to strengthen international research ties. While there, he is also participating in seminars, workshops, and meetings that foster knowledge exchange and contribute to advancing the field of neuroscience and medical imaging.

This academic milestone reflects LASU’s long-standing tradition of producing graduates who make meaningful contributions to global research, demonstrate leadership in their fields, and build bridges between institutions in pursuing excellence on the international stage.

Seyi appreciates the keen support he has always received from LASU and the guidance of his mentor, Pastor Lawrence Omokhua, who had, in fact, encouraged him to collaborate with the research group at Harvard.
