The Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB) has announced the appointment of Lieutenant Colonel AY Bello, Ph.D., as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Military). His selection was confirmed by the Nigerian Army, formalizing a significant administrative transition within the institution.

Lt Col Bello officially assumed his duties on 2 December 2025, succeeding Brigadier General JT Aun, who is currently away on a course. The handover ceremony was conducted by the Acting DVC (Military), Lieutenant Colonel M.M. Danzaki, in the presence of the Director of Security, Colonel AA Ude. Lt Col Bello had reported for duty a day ahead of his formal assumption of office on 1 December 2025.
