Mai Mala Buni 500 Housing Estate Visits Kiu Vc Over Proposed Smart School
The Chairman of Mai Mala Buni Five Hundred Housing Estate, CSP Yusuf Suleiman, led members of the estate on a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Kashim Ibrahim University, KIU, Maiduguri, Professor Babagana Gutti, to solicit the university’s support for the opening of a Smart School within the housing estate.
CSP Yusuf Suleiman said the purpose of the visit was to seek the Vice-Chancellor’s assistance in facilitating the opening of the proposed school, stressing that many children in the estate were currently staying at home without access to formal education.
He noted that the support of the university would go a long way in ensuring that the children receive quality education and a brighter future.
In his response, Professor Babagana Gutti thanked the delegation for the visit and commended the community for prioritising education.
He assured the residents of the university’s support and expressed optimism that the Smart School would commence operations within the first term.

The Vice-Chancellor described the proposed school as a unique initiative, noting that it is the first of its kind in the state. He pledged that Kashim Ibrahim University would do everything possible to support the community in achieving its educational goals.
Professor Gutti further stated that KIU and the Five Hundred Housing Estate share a common interest in the development of the community, adding that the university remains committed to contributing to the success and advancement of the area through education and other developmental initiatives.
