Nasarawa State Government Strengthens FULafia Transportation with Electric Vehicle Allocation
The Nasarawa State Government has allocated one car and two tricycles to the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) under its empowerment scheme.
The gesture was part of the state government’s ongoing distribution of electric vehicles and tricycles to cooperatives, youth groups and institutions to promote clean energy and improve socio-economic activities.
Last year, the state distributed over 100 electric cars and 50 tricycles as revolving loans.
Receiving the documents, the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, thanked the state government for the gesture, noting that the vehicles would aid students mobility on campus.
He assured that the University would comply with all payment modalities and ensure judicious use of the facilities, which will be managed by the FULafia Consult.
Earlier, the Director of the Directorate of Linkages and Advancement, Dr Fatima Adamude, expressed her appreciation for the inclusion of FULafia in the scheme.
The registrar, bursar and University's librarian also commended the directorate, calling for proper monitoring and effective utilisation of the vehicles.
