The Niger Delta University (NDU) has commenced applications for admission into its Basic Studies Programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The Niger Delta University (NDU) has commenced applications for admission into its Basic Studies Programme for the 2026/2027 academic session.

According to the university, the programme is designed to prepare secondary school leavers for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and enhance their chances of gaining admission into various undergraduate programmes offered by the institution.

The programme also prepares Senior Secondary School (SS III) students and other school leavers for the WAEC and NECO examinations.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must possess at least five O'Level credit passes relevant to their intended course of study, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE or equivalent examinations.

The university also stated that candidates awaiting the release of their WAEC or NECO results, as well as those preparing to rewrite the examinations, are eligible to apply. However, admission into degree programmes will depend on the candidate's performance in the current UTME.

How to Apply

Interested applicants are required to:

  1. Visit the university portal at https://nduportal.com/.
  2. Click on "Basic Application."
  3. Select "Start Application" and create an account using their full name, gender, phone number, email address, contact address and a password.
  4. Purchase an E-PIN online using a valid debit or credit card.
  5. Complete the application form using the generated E-PIN, which will also be sent to the applicant's email address and phone number.
  6. Proceed to the School of Pre-Degree and Basic Studies, ICT Building, New Site, to obtain the admission application form and complete the remaining admission processes.

Programme Duration

The Basic Studies Programme runs for one academic session (2026/2027).
