The Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Borno State Command, Comptroller Umar Ahmed Kibiya, has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Kashim Ibrahim University, KIU, Professor Babagana Gutti, at the University's Senate Building.

The visit was aimed at strengthening the existing partnership between the University and the Nigeria Immigration Service, and fostering greater collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

Speaking during the visit, Comptroller Kibiya stated that he was at the University to formally introduce himself following his assumption of duty as the Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Borno State Command.

He expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor and the University Management for the support and cooperation extended to the Immigration Service, particularly at the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport, Maiduguri.

The Comptroller disclosed that upon taking over leadership of the Command, his predecessor briefed him extensively on the cordial and productive relationship that exists between Kashim Ibrahim University and the Nigeria Immigration Service.

He assured the Vice-Chancellor that he would sustain the existing partnership and build on the achievements already recorded for the benefit of both institutions and the people of Borno State.

Responding, Professor Gutti warmly welcomed Comptroller Kibiya and members of his delegation to Kashim Ibrahim University.

He congratulated the Comptroller on his appointment and wished him a successful tenure, assuring him of the University's continued support and readiness to work closely with the Nigeria Immigration Service in advancing national development and institutional growth.

Professor Gutti noted that the assistance rendered by the University to the Nigeria Immigration Service at the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport was part of the University's commitment to supporting government institutions.

He stressed that every citizen has a responsibility to contribute to the growth and development of the nation, adding that the University will continue to provide support wherever necessary in the interest of the state and the country.

The courtesy visit concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the long-standing relationship between Kashim Ibrahim University and the Nigeria Immigration Service, Borno State Command.

They expressed optimism that the partnership would continue to promote institutional cooperation, capacity building, and initiatives that will contribute to the socio-economic development of Borno State and Nigeria as a whole.
