Contestants in the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) Registry Welfare election demonstrated sportsmanship and commitment to the democratic process as members elected a new Executive Committee to oversee the affairs of the association.
The election was held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the University's New Senate Chamber and recorded a large turnout of Registry staff, who participated in electing leaders to advance the welfare and development of members.
Addressing contestants, the electorate and members of the Electoral Committee before voting commenced, the Registrar of NSUK, Dr. Bala Isyaka Ahmed II, urged all participants to uphold fairness, transparency and credibility throughout the electoral process. He commended all contestants for offering themselves for service and wished them success in the election.
The immediate past Chairman of the Registry Welfare, Alh. Umar Shehu, described the association as an important platform established to provide financial assistance and support to members during periods of need. He urged contestants and members to remain united after the election and continue working together for the growth of the welfare scheme.
The election was conducted peacefully, with contestants engaging in healthy competition while members exercised their voting rights in an orderly and transparent atmosphere.
At the end of the exercise, the following officials were elected into the new Executive Committee:
- Chairman: Barr. Ramatu Liman
- Vice Chairman: Ezekiel Audu Abimiku
- Secretary: Mr. Wakaso Mohammed
- Treasurer: Hajiya Hassana Musa
- Financial Secretary: Mr. Makyo Onje Gye-Wado
- Auditor: Hajara Aliyu
- Investment Officer: Mr. Ibrahim Baba
- Public Relations Officer (PRO): Mr. Ajipson Sunday
The election concluded successfully, with contestants congratulating the winners and reaffirming their commitment to supporting the newly elected leadership.
The impressive turnout of members and the peaceful conduct of the exercise reflected the Registry Welfare's commitment to democracy, unity and the collective advancement of its members.
