In a bold move to address educational disparities, Sardaunan Shinkafi has issued an open letter appealing for the relocation of the School of Health Technology from Tsafe to Zamfara North Senatorial District. The appeal, shared publicly on his Facebook page, highlights significant imbalances in the distribution of higher institutions across Zamfara State. 

Glaring Disparities in Institution Allocation 

Recent data reveals troubling inequalities in educational infrastructure: 

- Federal Institutions: 

  - Zamfara Central dominates with 6 institutions (67%) 

  - Zamfara West has 2 institutions (22%) 

  - Zamfara North possesses just 1 institution (11%)

- State-Owned Institutions:

  - Zamfara Central hosts 4 schools (57%) 

  - Zamfara West has 3 institutions (43%) 

  - Zamfara North has zero state-owned higher institutions 

 

The recent establishment of the Federal University of Health Sciences in Tsafe has further concentrated educational resources in Zamfara Central.

Comprising Shinkafi, Kaura Namoda, Birnin Magaji and Zurmi LGAs, Zamfara North remains the most educationally marginalized region. While acknowledging government plans to establish a School of Nursing in Zurmi, Sardaunan Shinkafi emphasized that relocating the School of Health Technology would be transformative for the region's youth.
