ACU Set To Host 2027 NPUGA, Says VC

Ajayi Crowther University, ACU, Oyo, has declared its readiness to host the 2027 edition of the Nigeria Private University Games Association, NPUGA, sports competition, with the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ebunoluwa Oduwole, expressing unwavering commitment to sports development.
Prof. Oduwole made this known while hosting the NPUGA executive team during an initial facility tour of the university. She assured the delegation that the institution is fully prepared to welcome participants from private universities across Nigeria for the sporting festival.
"This administration and past ones are passionate about sports development," Prof. Oduwole stated. She emphasized that the university already boasts a functional sports committee and a robust sports unit, adding that the NPUGA executives should feel at home in ACU and the historic town of Oyo to appreciate the hospitality they would enjoy during the main games.
The Vice-Chancellor charged the team to formally submit their proposals and modalities for hosting, which she said would be presented to the university's governing council and management for further deliberation.
Speaking on behalf of the NPUGA delegation, the association's President, Dr. Babajide Diyaolu, and Secretary, Mr. John Obogo, thanked the ACU management for its commitment to sports development. They briefed the Vice-Chancellor on the basic requirements for hosting the games and expressed confidence in the university's preparedness.
The NPUGA executives disclosed that they would return for another round of facility inspection and provide feedback to the management on areas requiring improvement.
The Nigeria Private University Games Association serves as a unifying sporting platform where all private universities in Nigeria converge for a competitive and camaraderie-filled festival.
Also present at the meeting were the Registrar, Dr. Bode Olofinmuagun; the Bursar, Dr. Ayodele Olusanwo; Chairman of the ACU Sports Committee, Prof. Paul Amalu; and the university's Chief Coach, Dr. Sunday Omobhude. Other NPUGA executives in attendance included Mr. Emmanuel Nwakwo and Alhaji Ganiyu Adedokun.
The 2027 NPUGA games are expected to attract athletes and officials from private universities nationwide, further cementing ACU's reputation as a hub for sporting excellence.
