TASFUED Shines At 2026 NIM South West Zonal Management Summit ...Emerges 1st Runner Up

The Tai Solarin Federal University of Education, TASFUED, Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Management, Chartered, has emerged as the Second-Best Chapter in the South West Zone at the 2026 NIM South West Zonal Management Summit.

The two-day summit was held recently at Ilaji Hotel and Resort, Akanran, Oyo State, and brought together management professionals, academics, industry leaders, and members of the Institute from across the South West to deliberate on contemporary management issues and strategies for institutional and national development.

The summit, themed "Resilient Institutions, Responsible Leadership: Strengthening Management Systems for Sustainable Development," also commemorated 65 years of management excellence.

The theme underscored the importance of building resilient institutions through responsible and visionary leadership, accountability, innovation, and effective management systems capable of driving sustainable development.

The latest recognition further reinforces TASFUED's growing reputation for excellence in professional management and institutional leadership. It also reflects the Chapter's sustained commitment to promoting the values of professionalism, ethical leadership, and continuous development among members of the University Community.

The achievement is particularly significant as the TASFUED Chapter has consistently distinguished itself as one of the most active and high-performing chapters of the Institute. Its continued recognition at the zonal level is a testament to the dedication of its members and their commitment to advancing management excellence.

The latest award has further strengthened the University's reputation for professionalism, leadership, and excellence, while reaffirming its commitment to supporting initiatives that promote capacity building and effective management practices.

Delivering the keynote address, the Vice-Chancellor of Dominion University, Ibadan, Professor Abel Olajide Olorunnisola, FNIM, emphasized that institutions must embrace responsible leadership, sound governance, strategic planning, and continuous innovation to remain relevant and competitive in an increasingly dynamic environment.

He urged management professionals to adopt global best practices and strengthen organisational systems to promote sustainable growth and institutional excellence.

In his remarks, the President and Chairman of the Council of the Nigerian Institute of Management, Chartered, Commodore Abimbola Olabibire Ayuba, Rtd., FNIM, commended members for their commitment to the ideals and values of professional management.

He charged chapters across the South West Zone to sustain the promotion of ethical leadership, professionalism, and continuous capacity building, noting that these remained critical to achieving institutional excellence and advancing national development.

The major highlight of the summit was the presentation of awards to outstanding chapters across the South West Zone.

The TASFUED Chapter was recognised as the Second Best Chapter in the Zone in recognition of its remarkable contributions, active participation, and sustained commitment to the objectives of the Institute.
