NUC Grants Full Accreditation to 19 Programmes at Caleb University, Unbundles Mass Communication
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to 19 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, for the 2024/2025 academic session. This includes B.Sc. programmes in Broadcasting, Journalism and Media Studies, and Film and Multimedia Studies, as well as postgraduate programmes in Industrial Chemistry, Criminology and Security Studies, Microbiology, and Cyber Security.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially granted full accreditation to 19 undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, for the 2024/2025 academic session. This marks a significant milestone in the university’s commitment to maintaining academic excellence and further solidifies its standing in Nigeria’s higher education landscape.
In a statement issued by the newly appointed Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sunday Olumuyiwa Adewale, he expressed pride in the university’s achievement, emphasizing that the accreditation of the programmes demonstrates Caleb University's adherence to rigorous academic standards and its commitment to delivering exceptional education. He highlighted the importance of this accreditation, which underscores the institution's strong reputation for academic quality.
“This achievement reaffirms our commitment to providing an outstanding educational experience for our students,” Prof. Adewale said. “We are honored to have met the high standards set by NUC and continue our tradition of excellence.”
The accreditation was confirmed in a letter signed by Abubakar M. Girei, Ag. Director of Academic Planning, on behalf of the Executive Secretary of NUC. The approval followed a resource verification visit conducted by expert panels to assess the proposed academic programmes at the university.
