OAU Congratulates Professor Kemi Rotimi on Appointment to Presidential Working Group on National Policing Bill

The Obafemi Awolowo University community has congratulated Professor Emmanuel Olukemi (Kemi) Rotimi of the Department of History on his appointment to the Policy Advisory Committee of the Presidential Working Group on the National Policing Bill.

For decades, Professor Rotimi has dedicated his scholarship and public engagement to the rigorous study of policing in Nigeria, from the history of Native Authority and Local Government police forces to contemporary debates on decentralisation, accountability, and reform.

His pioneering research, publications, and consistent advocacy have established him as one of the foremost historians of the police in the country.

The University celebrated the well-deserved national recognition of his expertise and wished him and the entire Policy Advisory Committee every success as they guide the drafting of the landmark legislation.
