Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic, Aba, has migrated its official digital portal from the former Abia State Polytechnic domain to a new platform as part of efforts to align its operations with its new institutional identity.

The portal migration marks another milestone in the institution's transformation since it was renamed Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic on November 7, 2024, a decision announced by Alex Otti during the funeral rites of the late Ogbonnaya Onu.
The Rector, Engr. Dr. Christopher Okoro Kalu, had earlier disclosed during the institution's 22nd Convocation Ceremony in December that the polytechnic had continued to record significant progress following the name change.
According to him, the institution has experienced steady growth and institutional advancement, describing the period as one of sustained upward mobility.
As part of its rebranding and modernization agenda, the institution has now fully transitioned from the former Abia State Polytechnic portal to a dedicated digital platform operating under the Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic identity.
Speaking on the development, the Officer-in-Charge of ICT, Mr. Nnaemeka Okoro, said the upgraded portal was designed to improve accessibility, transparency, and efficiency in service delivery.

He explained that the platform features an enhanced user interface and additional functionalities aimed at streamlining academic and administrative processes for both students and staff.
According to Okoro, the portal will serve as the institution's central platform for admission processing, fee payment, course registration, student record management, and other academic activities.
He added that a dedicated e-learning and Computer-Based Testing (CBT) interface has also been integrated into the platform to support digital learning and assessment.
Prospective students seeking admission, application forms, and payment services have been advised to utilize the institution's designated application portal, while enrolled students can access academic records, e-learning resources, and examination results through the student management platform.

The portal migration is the latest in a series of reforms being implemented by the polytechnic as it continues to modernise its operations, strengthen its digital infrastructure, and consolidate its new identity as Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic.
